Casa RIA celebrates its second anniversary
Casa RIA celebrates its second anniversary this week with a gathering that brought together friends, partner organisations and public institutions that have supported and helped shape the work of Fundación RIA over the past two years.
The event began with an institutional ceremony in the garden of Casa RIA, reflecting on the journey since the building first opened. The speakers included David Chipperfield, President of Fundación RIA; Goretti Sanmartín, Mayor of Santiago de Compostela; Julio Abalde Alonso, Deputy Government Delegate in A Coruña; and José González, Regional Minister for Employment, Commerce and Emigration.
The speeches looked back on the activities carried out over the past year, during which Casa RIA hosted four public exhibitions, around thirty public events and welcomed more than 5,000 visitors. The occasion also provided an opportunity to reflect on the development of Fundación RIA as it approaches its tenth anniversary.
Following the institutional event, the celebration continued in the garden with an informal gathering organised as a gesture of thanks to all the people, institutions and organisations that make up the Casa RIA community and continue to strengthen it as a place for research, dialogue and collaboration centred on the territory.
