Internalities visits Casa RIA as part of the exhibition A Panda da Dá
The project representing Spain at this year’s Venice Architecture Biennale led a new public conversation around the exhibition A Panda da Dá. The session brought together the research team behind the energy strand of Internalities to explore the Eume River basin as a sustainable model for local energy production.
On Thursday 19 June, Casa RIA hosted a new public conversation within the framework of the A Panda da Dá exhibition. The event featured the team from Internalities: Architectures for Territorial Equilibrium, the project selected to represent Spanish architecture at the 2025 Venice Biennale.
Participants included Manuel Bouzas, co-curator of Internalities; architects Aurora Armental Ruiz and Stefano Ciurlo Walker from the Estar studio; and photographer Luis Díaz Díaz. All of them are responsible for the project’s energy research. The conversation focused on the Eume River basin as a territorial case study, exploring alternative ways of producing energy rooted in biodiversity, social equality and community-based governance.
The session is part of the special programme accompanying the A Panda da Dá exhibition at Casa RIA, which explores how forests can become spaces for innovation in sustainable land management, value creation and architectural rehabilitation. The visit of Internalities strengthens the dialogue between applied research and real-world territorial experiences, inviting reflection on the role of architecture in an ecologically and socially minded transition.
The exhibition is open to visitors at Casa RIA until 7 July, from Monday to Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm. It showcases a replicable model of sustainable forest management that integrates production, design and architectural renovation while remaining closely tied to its territory. The public programme will conclude on 2 July with a final session entitled Art and Territory: Creating from Place, featuring a roundtable with artists who have worked on-site, followed by a concert starting at 6:30 pm.
