Fundación RIA, in collaboration with AXI, will hold two participatory sessions on the AC-305 road on its way through the coastal towns of Escarabote and Coroso
On Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 August, two participatory sessions will take place in Escarabote (Boiro) and Coroso (Ribeira) respectively. Both events are open access and seek to know the perspective of the neighbours in these towns crossed by the AC-305 road.
Following the development of a preliminary project for the humanisation of the AC-305 through Palmeira—which has already been approved and is awaiting a tender for the works this summer—Fundación RIA signed in December 2020 a collaboration agreement with the Galician Agency for Infrastructures of the Xunta de Galicia (AXI). Within the framework of this agreement, RIA developed a general study of the AC-305 road, which runs along the entire Barbanza coastline from Padrón to Ribeira and is developing intervention proposals to improve safety and recover the urban identity in 5 priority sections (Taragoña, Boiro, Escarabote, A Pobra do Caramiñal and Coroso).
This week, there will be a series of citizen participation and reflection sessions in the towns of Escarabote and Coroso. This methodology, included in the collaboration agreement between the two entities, seeks to encourage debate with the local population in order to incorporate into the study subjective criteria on the safety of the road and to reflect on the heritage, urban and identity values of the environment.
In addition, to facilitate the participation of neighbours who are unable to attend the conferences and learn first-hand about their concerns, there are online surveys available for each town.
