Casa RIA will host the sessions Towards a Territorial Agenda for Galicia. Urban and Rural Integration, from Monday, November 18, to Thursday, November 21.

9 November 2024

Within the framework of collaboration with the Xunta de Galicia and the Official College of Architects of Galicia, the symposium will feature over twenty speakers specializing in topics such as territory, mobility, housing, public space, social cohesion, and capacity building.

The program launched in 2022 initiated an evaluation of the planning instruments with territorial impact in Galicia. This process included the development of roundtables with an expert committee and the preparation of thematic reports. Through these activities, the understanding of existing territorial frameworks was deepened, and the main thematic areas of territorial planning were identified.

Based on an initial evaluation of the territorial instruments promoted by the regional, provincial, and local administrations of Galicia, the aim was to synthesize the contributions of the expert group by comparing their reports, which identified strengths, weaknesses, challenges, and priorities across the various disciplines related to Galician territory.

In this second edition, the goal is to identify key themes, reach consensus on positions, and propose policies that can shape a territorial approach for the development and protection of the Galician territory in the coming decades. The focus of the sessions lies on the “how,” emphasizing the governance process, design, and implementation of joint actions by public and private stakeholders linked to a territory.

Ulrich Wilhelm, Josep María Pascual, Pau Noy, David Estal, Salvador Rueda, Ignacio de la Puerta, Rafel López, and Kepa Korta will bring their expertise in processes of best practices related to territorial management.

Pedro Calaza, Alfonso Díaz Revilla, Margarita Novales, Idoia Camiruaga, Xerardo Estévez, Heriberto García, Ana María Aboy, Xosé Artur Cuns, Nerea Rivero, Jesús Manuel Rodríguez Buján, and Ledicia Suárez make up the list of Galician experts.
