The Rural Resilient Territory Forum is an initiative promoted by Fundación Juana de Vega and LaboraTe (USC), in collaboration with Fundación RIA, Fundación Roberto Rivas and the College of Journalists of Galicia, aimed at jointly addressing the challenges facing rural Galicia. Structured around six thematic working groups, this process is bringing together more than 120 representatives from public administrations, social organisations, sectoral groups and the scientific community.

RIA coordinates one of these six lines of work, focused on governance and public–private–community cooperation for territorial planning. This working group aims to reflect on the organisational capacity and joint action of different public and private stakeholders in rural areas, addressing the current situation, existing collaboration mechanisms, their main shortcomings and, in particular, ways to improve them in order to move towards a more active and resilient territory.

This collective reflection process will culminate in an event open to the general public upon registration on 28 May in Santiago de Compostela. A form has been made available on the website foroterritoriorural.gal so that anyone can submit contributions, ideas or proposals to broaden and complement the process.

This new phase, open to public participation, reinforces the collaborative nature of the Rural Resilient Territory Forum—an initiative driven by Galician civil society that seeks to contribute to a more active rural territory, resilient to wildfires and prepared to face economic, demographic, climate and environmental challenges through improved territorial planning and management.
