“Living with wood”: a conversation with Rodrigo Escobedo
Designer and founder of La Metropolitana, Rodrigo Escobedo visits Casa RIA to take part in a conversation on wood, production, design and contemporary material culture, using the experience of this Mexico-based organisation as a starting point to connect realities from Galicia and Mexico.
This conversation forms part of the public programme of the exhibition ‘Design for Living’ and it is supported by the Deputación da Coruña

The event will feature Rodrigo Escobedo, designer and founder of La Metropolitana, a multidisciplinary organisation dedicated to design, manufacturing and the development of production systems related to wood transformation.
The session proposes a conversation around wood, production, design and contemporary material culture, taking La Metropolitana’s experience as a starting point to connect realities from Galicia and Mexico.
The discussion will address topics such as the relationship between industry and workshops, the disappearance of traditional crafts, rehabilitation, and the construction of a local material identity.
