‘Making as design’: a conversation between Gonzalo Mila and David Martí
The founder of interior design studio Milà Diseño and the director of the technical and editorial departments at Santa & Cole will be visiting Casa RIA for a session that approaches design from the perspective of ‘making’.
This conversation forms part of the public programme of the exhibition ‘Design for Living’ and it is supported by the Deputación da Coruña

The conversation will address the relationship between design, manufacturing and context, focusing on issues such as the design of public space, the concept of curating design, the role of innovation, sustainability and professional responsibility, and the role of tradition and craftsmanship in the contemporary world.
We will seek to highlight the processes, decisions and responsibilities that accompany design in contemporary practice, understanding production processes as an essential part of the construction of meaning.
Gonzalo Milà, an industrial designer and founder of the Milà Diseño studio, combines interior design projects with product and street furniture design. He has collaborated with companies such as Santa & Cole, Urbidermis, Escofet, Bover and Kettal.
David Martí is an industrial designer with extensive experience in editorial management and product development. For the past sixteen years, he has been part of Santa & Cole, a leading Barcelona-based company specialising in lighting and design.
