Fundación RIA acts as a bridge between academia and the territory. After years of working with local stakeholders, it enables universities to connect with specific places, concrete challenges, and living communities.
This exhibition presents the results of collaborations with UIC, UAH, and MIT in the Ría de Arousa, and with UNAV in the inland regions of Ribeiro and Monterrei. Students, guided by an active methodology, explore the area, speak with local residents, map the territory, identify needs, and develop strategic proposals.
Throughout the process, they address key issues such as rural depopulation, the valorisation of productive landscapes, the revitalisation of local economies, and the regeneration and planning of the territory.
The exercise goes beyond project work: it is situated learning, mediation, and engagement. Applying knowledge means activating new questions, valuing local intelligence, and opening shared paths toward a sustainable future for the territory.
